To expand outdoor education along the Rivers to Ridges Heritage Trail in order to boost community engagement and regional tourism in southwestern West Virginia

For the STEAM Power WV grant initiative, which encourages integration of arts and STEM disciplines in West Virginia schools and communities through funding of innovative, hands-on, educational projects for preK-12 students

To expand rural community capacity to grow cultural tourism and regional development along the West Virginia Mine Wars Trail (over two years)

To expand programming and boost nonprofit resilience and resource growth by deepening statewide connections, launching new capacity-building efforts, and releasing data related to challenges and opportunities facing the sector

To support workforce recruitment and retention challenges for rural health organizations in West Virginia, the development of a state-wide rural health conference, and to provide technical assistance for Rural Health Clinics

To offer the West Virginia University Tobacco Treatment Training Program for providers to earn credentials in evidence-based pharmacological and counseling interventions to assist clients in tobacco abstinence (project over two years)

For expansion of entrepreneurship programming for youth through a coordinated statewide planning effort comprised of targeted professional development for educators and hands-on learning experiences for students

For Focus Forward 2026, the eighth event in a series of summits, each building upon the last and focusing on emerging issues that will impact West Virginia’s workforce and economy

For the Strengthening the Teacher Workforce project, which will expand unique models for teacher recruitment and retention, including Teachers Ascend, the Take Me Home Teacher Residency program, and the Paraprofessional-to-Teacher Pathway (over two years)

To strengthen and improve the quality of Out-of-School time organizations through advocacy, professional development, and quality initiatives
